Dr. Gilbert Bejjani, holds his Medical Degree from the Free University of Brussels, and is board Certified in Anesthesiology. His training included an Interuniversity Certificate in Pain Medicine from the Catholic University of Leuven, an European Diploma in Baromedicine and a Cardiac Ultrasound Certification from University of Paris XII. Dr. Bejjani has several publications and presentations in the field of pharmacokinetics of intravenous drugs in anesthesia. He is head of the anesthesiology department in the Basilique Clinique and Chief Operating Officer for the Operating Theaters.

As an accomplished Hospital Manager, dr. Bejjani is Medical Director and Executive Director at the Basilique Clinic-CHIREC hospital group and has a degree in Management of Health Institutions. He is also certified in Health Economics and in Medical Management from the Free University of Brussels. He followed an Executive Education on Innovating Health at INSEAD and is member of the American College of HealthCare Executives. He is engaged in Health issues, Leadership, and Innovation in the medical field in multiple Belgian institutions.

Dr. Bejjani is also engaged in Health issues at several levels: as an active Board Member in many associations including the Belgian Association of Hospital Managers, the Belgian Association of Ambulatory Surgery, the EBA-UEMS, the Anesthesiology Section of UEMS (European Union Medical Specialties) and as a Physicians’ representative in several committees at the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI) and the Ministry of Public Health in Belgium.

He is General Secretary of the Belgian Association of Physicians’ Syndicates, the largest physician’s union in Belgium and President of its Brussels Division. He is also President of the Anesthesiology Professional Association.
